SS Auto Test Drive Unimpressive
I'm not. I am over 50 and have owned numerous muscle and performance cars in my lifetime. I am not some greenhorn that got his first 4 cyl with a manual tranny and thinks he has a Flopper. Someone else on the thread posted the HHR/SS times and I posted the LTZ's. I don't see that as "magazine racing". I was only stating the obvious to me after driving both cars back to back, the LTZ was faster. Hey, I'm a big HHR fan but sometimes the truth hurts.
if you like the LTZ, then keep it.
The suspension alone in the SS is a "must have". and we are getting a low of 27mpg and a high of 33, with all the power we'll ever need on the street. Wife wouldn't trade hers for a Corvette.

I have not had the pleasure to test drive a CHEVY HHR ss, manual or automatic, but either published 0-60 mph is plenty fast enuff for me. I dont bother having to crave the most powerful car/truck that rolls off the assembly line. Last few years, there has been a horsepower war in the auto world, with 269 hp RAV4's, mazda 3 turbo with 250plus hp, new malibu, camry, altimas, impalas, hyundai sonatas, honda accords (all family sedans with hp from 260-280!), not to mention pick up trucks with 300-450 hp v8s with 20 inch tires and tv screens built into the back seats. You could pull up to a stop light these days and some little junk car from ESTONIA might blow your doors off. So, at some point, whether middle age or over the top gasoline prices or high insurance, you just test drive what ''feels right'' for you and be happy with your purchase. The age of huge v8's with high horsepower - crappy fuel economy will end verrrry soon. Give it a few years and small turbo engines burning gas or deisel will be the norm.
