I can't understand how you did not know you had a problem long before that U-joint busted.

Literally no sign. No vibration, no rattling or thumping. I drove it day before to put gas in it, then nexr day kiddo who is learning to drive. When she was done, I got behind the wheel, it was tight, but I assumed it was the bad alignment.
Then pop, as i was turning steering wheel left.
when i replaced it. It wont retract into its self. Its stuck extended.

For sure. Been a few of us on here with that complaint.

The one that broke was not stock, stock one broke a long while ago (u-joints failed). This one that broke from slide being stuck, came from auto zone.
newest one, 3rd in now, is Dorman 425-189.
