Steering wheel volume

I was wondering if you could get your hands on the right side of the steering wheel that controlled the volume and everything if it would be easy to install. I didnt get the premium sound system b/c I wanted to do it myself, but i would like the radio controls on the steering wheel.

Are you going to replace the receiver? Most aftermarket receivers come with a remote anyways. I think you would probably have to replace the whole wheel but I could be wrong.

I belive you had to get the premium sound in order to get the steering wheel control.
According to Chevy the 1LT its an extra option to have that feature. It only comes standard on the 2LT. Then again so is the premium sound is also an option on the 1LT.

Yea i know you had to pay the extra for the premium sound system to get it, but i didnt want to pay for the speakers and the sub that i will replace later just for the steering wheel controls. I'm gonna see if i can take apart the steering wheel a tad and see what i can find.

If only I would have thought like that. I have came to the decision to just replace the factory premium speakers for now and see how it sounds. I have too many ideas bouncing around right now to chose a full system but I know that the factory speakers need to go. I'll go all aftermarket later.
