Thank You

Just wanted to throw a big thank you to everyone in this community. I am

pretty young (24) and my '06 HHR was the first "newer" car I ever owned.

In fact, it really is the first car I ever truly cared about. I bought it in

September of 2013 at a local Ford dealership in Tampa, FL while my crippled

and dying '99 Chrysler Sebring was smoking and dripping oil all over the

dealership parking lot. I was very happy to have purchased this HHR. I

made the purchase because there is something about it I cant explain to

other people as far as why I love the thing so much; I caught a lot of flak

from friends and family for buying "a bright orange PT Cruiser Knock off"

and still have to defend my little HHR against those that compare it to the

Cruiser. I discovered the site around that time because I encountered the

infamous VVT solenoid hard shift issues THE SECOND TIME I EVER DROVE

THE CAR. I was at a loss and somewhat panicky as I had just spent most all

the money I had getting this vehicle the day previous, but this site and its

members provided me the easy and simple instructions to fix the issue. A

few months later I had yet another all too common issues with the Butyl

Patch, coupled with a leaky sun roof drain. The butyl patch ruined the

blower motor as well. This site made fixing those issues a breeze. All I am

trying to say is that this is the first car I have truly had as an adult, and I

just want to thank all of you for helping me through. I plan on driving my

HHR until the wheels fall off. Cheers to you al land again. THANK YOU FOR

BEING SUCH A SUPPORTIVE, POLITE, AND HELPFUL

COMMUNITY.

It's not a PT knockoff, Bryan Nesbitt got a second chance to design a retro car and improved on it...

We're all very lucky that GM's CEO Bob Lutz saw the drawings of the Cobalt station wagon and pronounced it "Butt Ugly" giving Nesbitt the chance to pull out the design for the HHR.

Unfortunately, Nesbitt rubbed someone at The General in the wrong way, hence his demotion/promotion to the head of styling for GM of China.
