Those having problems with remote start...

Last night I was getting a crank, start, stall with the remote start but the car started fine with the key. This morning I did another PI search and found one just released the 23, Dec. There is an updated ECM calibration coming out for the 2.4L cars that are experiencing this problem on cold starts, and a replacement ECM for the 2.2L cars. Both fixes are expected by the first quarter 06. I post up more info when I run across it.

I have had it stall a few times using the remote start but I didn't think it was that major of an issue. I guess I was wrong.

So does this mean we have to bring it into the dealer?

I had a problem the other night, and again this morning. The remote worked for everything else but the start mode. I went to the dealer this morning for another issue and of course it started right up. They cleared the memory and re-programmed it. Works fine now. They said they do have problems from time to time with other starters including the Cobalt, though it isn't a big issue.

Here are the document ID's in case your dealer has a case of the stupids:

2.2L 1746789
2.4L 1751566

TIS version 1.35 was broadcasted to dealers through GM Access and was released in TIS2Web. Dealers that update their TIS terminal using CDs should receive this CD by the end of January 2006 or beginning of February 2006.

Your dealer should be ready to service you.
