Exclamation Need Remote Start Help! Please

Hi, I have a 07 hhr 2lt with factory remote start, it has worked fine up till a few days ago now when I go to use the remote start I press the lock button on the remote then hold down the start button and instead of starting the horn honks 3 times and the park lamps flash 3 times. I tried it with engine cold, and hot, made sure all doors and hatch closed 100% and even had a code scanned connected(no codes). Does anyone have an idea whats up? I called the dealer and they said to bring it in, but since im out of warranty at 38k they want 79.99 for the first hour to TRY and diagnos it. I say f'k that.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice

Does it do that for both remotes? Could be a remote problem. Other wise I would say it sounds like the computer module needs reprogrammed or replaced.

This may be a long shot but check the alarm sensor at front by the hood latch.
May need to reposition. My daughter had the same problem (Cobalt SS) last winter on the coldest days, Turned out the sensor was just far enough away from the latch to cause the no start condition. Moved it up slightly, problem solved. As I said just a long shot, Hope it helps.

I haven't tested the HHR on this, but one morning when I went to get in my Tahoe the hood was popped up. No idea how or why. I opened the hood and looked to see if anything was missing, thankfully everything was intact.

But when I hit the remote the to unlock the door the horn honked three times. I looked it up and that is a notification that the vehicle was tampered with, so I agree that your problem may be related to the the hood latch.
