Talking Towed for 1200 miles.

Just wanted to let you know that I pulled my Harley V-Rod down to Florida on my 4x8 bike trailer. It was 1200 miles and through the Kentucky and Tennessee mountains on I-75 and I got 24.8 mpg and the car ran flawlessly, 70+ mph all the way.

Thats awsome. Sweet bike btw. I am really jealous anyone who has a bike worth more that their car is someone I can look up to.

And there is another thread going with a bunch of 2.4`s that can`t get 24.8 mpg`s going flat with nothing on there A$$.Your living proof that they or there car has a problem I have done that trip often and know the terrain.

Enjoy bike week I was going to be heading that way next Tuesday till I broke my right ankel.

Cool. I plan to be getting a 4X8 trailer shortly, and taking my bike down to the Deal's Gap area in June. Good to hear that the car can handle it.

24.8 mpg makes you an excellent "tow buddy" since it is obvious you know how to tow...a credit to your driving with a load.

I bet that route would have been a beautiful ride in nice weather on the V-rod, huh?

as for those who only get 24.8 in stock trim, no trailer...best start diagnosing problems with the car, or try driving with your foot on and off the throttle less often.

Yep, down here for Bike Week. My brother lives in St. Cloud which is by Orlando so I am staying with him. I was really happy with the car's performance coming down and am getting 26 mpg city down in a warmer climate. I was getting that on the highway in Michigan with the cold temp and pre-warming in the mornings.

Would love to be able to tow our Harley's down to Bike Week -- but our bike trailer weighs in at 1,450 empty. Add our Heritage Softail (950+ pounds) and the XL883 Low (650+ pounds), and it's well above what my Little Monster could tow.
