Towing a 2009 HHR w/Automatic Transmission
#41
The HHR is absolutely designed to be towed four down. That one of the things that led me to buy ours, brand new in 2007. Even though the HHR with automatic transmissions are ok to tow, I did go for a five speed, but in years of towing have never had a problem. I did wire a switch in to cut power to fuse 8. The only issue I have had, and would with any car flat towed any distance is, front tires will wear faster, from being dragged around corners etc, and I have had front end components (lower control arms and bushings) wear faster than they might have, had the car not been towed so much. The HHR IMO has been a great car, both to tow and to own. We tow less now, new mini-motorhome, small enough that we most of the time don't need a tow car, but won't give up the HHR, love its drivability.

New Dingy
Hello folks, First posting here. We recently got us a Class C motorhome and of course we had to find a dingy. We considered several but decided on the HHR. We found a really nice white 2011. After doing a lot of research we decided on the Blue Ox system. This week I mounted the baseplate, wiring, tow bar and Patriot supplemental brake system. Whew! I also installed the fuse switch for convenience. This afternoon we will take it out for the first test run. What can I expect to find or feel on this first run? Are there any little helpful tidbits that you veterans know that will help me? Thanks and I'm glad I found this forum
