Trade-in

Hello everyone :)
I have a 2008 HHR LS with 57,000kms, custom grille, rims, sound system and intake..just wondering if anybody has a clue what mine would be worth for a trade in for an SS which i have come across that has about 20,000kms and dealer wants $20,000. Why Im asking is because this dealership is about 2hours from where I live and wondering if its even worth driving there to get their so called "appraisal".
Thanks :)

Im not at my computer. Just go to kbb or nada.com and look up the used price.

As far as your custom stuff the dealer probably wont give you anymore for the car with it. You would be better off uninstalling it and putting it in the ss or selling it. Depending on what you have put it up in the classifieds on this site if you dont want it.

I agree with swerv the add ons more than likely will not add to the trade in
the dealer should be able to give you a basic idea of what your trade in is worthe before you get there mine did
Trade in valueper kbb is higher than I thought for the low mileage of 35000 miles
7200 in fair condition up to 9000 in excellent condition.
As far as the low mileage ss I myself would rather pay less and get a warranty
$20,000 is a lot in my opinion what year is it?

In US dollars a 2010 SS is listed at approx 19K and your car is worth about 9K. (assuming they are both in excellent condition)

The number can be anywhere in between depending on how much the dealer has in it, plus how anxious they are to get that SS out of their inventory.

Negotiate the price of the car you want before offering a trade in. Once you have the right price you can hold the dealer's feet to the fire on what you want for the trade in. If you can get an offer/estimate somewhere else that you like, you can use that as leverage.

$20k seems awfully high for any HHR. I've been watching HHRs for the past month or so, and a 2009 SS recently sold a few hours from where I live. I'm not sure what it actually sold for, but it had about 40k miles and they were only asking $13,900.

If you do get that 2010, it'll still have the 5-yr/100k-mile powertrain warranty. Depending on the date it was first sold, it may also still have some of the 3-yr/36k-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
