my friend has come across another SS for sale its a 2008 SS with 40,000km on it and they want $15,900 (before barganing) for it compared the the 2010 SS with 25,000km for $22,000 (before barganing). Which is the better option? im just more worried about insurance lol if getting an 08 will help me on insurance than sure! the 2010 seems to have some digital display in the middle of the dash..is this the speedometre?

I dislike the digital display....it is the speedo/boost/other stuff gauge, however I like the A pillar gauge and the storage compartment on the dash...and for what its worth my insurance went up $13 when I went from 07 2lt to 08 SS.

oh and $6,000 is not worth the extra 15,000km(9300miles)...40,000km equates to 24,854 miles...thats very low for a 08, I would choose the 08 if I were in your shoes, but its your choice

$13 per month

I'm 24 and never had any accidents/claims or anything(knock on wood). my Insurance through geico is $139 per month, was $126 with the old car. (US dollars of course) My insurance was over $200 a month when I got my first beater, for liability only...

I don't see how you folks afford insurance.

My 2010 HHR SS is $580 a YEAR for full coverage. Equals $48 per month.

True, I am 52 years old and have a clean record.

It can vary greatly just by area even in the same state. I moved from bowling green KY to Pikeville KY for my med school. In main eastern KY the insurance rates are atrocious. My insurance went from 190 a month for full coverage on two vehicles one a c6, and liability on my truck. My insurance shot to 423 a month with no change except my address =/
