I was surprised it did so well. 1st new Chevy I had owned.

Previously, I bought a used '56 Chevy for $50. 4 dr, auto. Had it for several months and sold it. Wish I had it now. I know I'd get more than $50 for it.
My first car was a 56 Chevy BelAir 4 door sedan. It had a 265 CID and a powerglide automatic. I paid my neighbor $250.00 for it.

Me too!!! First car I purchased was a black 76 Vega GT. Had a nice white stripe down the rocker panels and over the wheel wells also the area between the tail lights was white also. Black interior and a 4 speed with a Hurst shifter. Changed the stock wheels for some gold Shelby bbs style with comp T/A,s. Man would that thing hook up around a corner. I still wish I had kept that car. Was planning to put a buick v6 in it and got the new car bug. So off I went and came home with a loaded 2 door Eurosport. Loved that car also. Soon after I had traded it in the lady smacked the rear of a truck and bent the front up real good. I wanted to smack her for hurting my old car.
Oh well what can you do.

I still have my Vega GT. Added another 4 cylinders and some chassis work but its more or less stock. If your really bored you can check out a few old videos of it at BIR running 10.2 @ 130mph. Someday I'll have videos of the HHR running in the 9's
