It probably has been asked before, but can't seem to locate it on a search, but....is there any way to disarm the warning racket when you leave the key in the ignition? I really don't mind other warning sounds but this is truly a PITA!
My mechanic says all the warning noises go to the same noisemaker.

I haven't done anything on the HHR but on another car I disconnected the sensor that was under the drivers seat. And it went away.

 

I know on the 08 and later you can turn it down with the radio. It is adjustable at least in mine. I am not sure all radio's have this feature.
