Take care of yourself Sam, tooth issues aren't any fun.

Drove mine to work, couldn't sleep, and it's amazing how much you can accomplish when your phone and Blackberry are blissfully silent. Plus the traffic in DC is non-existent at 3am.

Saw a red SS on the road the other day. I see them occasionally but have yet to talk to another SS owner in person, or any HHR enthusiast for that matter. Turned out to be a76marine, I finally caught him at a light and we had a brief exchange about mods, etc.

Good feeling to speak to another owner in person! Hope to see more of you out there some day.

a76marine, let me know if you go to any car shows in the area this summer!

That WAS years ago. The Beltway never calms down now, downtown you have to wait till a couple hours after the bars close to be safe (from the drunks, the cops, the traffic).

Ain't it amazing that people save $100 on airfare to fly into BWI then expect somebody else to spend $200 in gas to pick them up? My wife's grandson tried to pull that; flying in from Springfield, Mass. My driving time would have been more than if he just drove down (6 hours).

I should add that I drive in the DC metro area for a living. When somebody wants me to do it for free, I don't care if there is a relation.

Guess I should have qualified that "non-existent" by comparing it to the normal tearing your hair out gridlock with its fair share of suicidal morons. There really is no perfectly quiet time, but 3am beats the crap out of the 5:30 rush hour silliness.

But that's a Monday thing to deal with, I got the heck out of town tonight on four wheels, drove the '06 home to do some much needed tinkering with it. Tomorrow it gets a new timing chain tensioner, sway bar bushings, serpentine belt, and a transmission service.

Sunday night it'll get a 380 mile shakedown run back to the District.

Break time, been busy this morning with the '06 AKA the Spousemobile...

Timing chain tensioner - Done
Sway bar bushings - Done
Serpentine belt - Done

Now off to the parts store for ATF and assorted transmission servicing goodies, might as well grab a cabin filter too.
