Not going anywhere for a while, we got a coat of ice with a thin coat of snow on top. Time to fire up the coffee pot

sit tight and ponder the wonders of life!! Man it is cold up here just 12 degrees F, but sunny, and I just got a text from my wife the gas cap I had to replace on the Sunday before Christmas just gave up. I'll have to brave the cold and get my buddy to drive me to get a GM cap and a ride to wife's work to replace the cheapo, oh the dealership isn't open, this should be almost the same cap!!
So today I go to rescue the HHR from the cold desolate parking lot of my wife's work 45 miles away!

Mounted my TTR swaybar and did a 400 mile road trip thru the Cascades from Medford to Klamath Falls and ended up in Roseburg. The sway bar makes such a difference.

Sorry to hear you had to conduct an Arctic rescue mission Oldblue, two out of my three "runners" have Stant brand gas caps, they seem better made than the OEM units. You just don't get the door tether, so during those "senile days" I've become accustomed to the sound of a gas cap rolling off the roof of the HHR then bouncing off the bumper....

What did I do with it? I traded it. Found this 2009 Cobalt SS/TC Sedan(1 of about 19 in Rally Yellow) with only 24k miles. The thing is practically brand new!!! I don't pick it up until Friday, so I have a couple more days to say goodbye to the RS. Don't worry though, I'm not going anywhere. I'll still be around to give advice/knowledge, and maybe even the occasional wise crack. On a similar note, If anyone is looking for an awesome, custom 1LT, talk to Sunset Chevrolet in Sumner, Wa, they just got one in stock.

The gas cap caper was a success, my buddy had to go to work so he sent his 19 year old daughter over to chauffeur me to the dealer and then to the HHR in distress. The DIC showed the Check gas cap message, the cap was doing the same as the original cap, it would not engage and click, junk!
So on the way home to thank Jessica for her driving me, I treated her to her first trip to a Starbucks! The girl is now hooked on Salted Carmel latte! My job is done!!

Had the Recall done on Paddy, GM's unending "Friendly Reminder" e-mails and my dealership finally getting to the "Nearly Done" stage of their new showroom construction meant it was time to get it done.(My '06 daily driver is next)

Everything turned out perfectly, with one minor hitch. Somewhere in the 16 miles from my Condo to the dealership, Paddy disposed of his "Duct, Air Cleaner, Intake" in GM-Speak.

In other words, he spit out the Woolly Worm, all that's left are the fitting that goes onto the airbox and the fitting where it plugs into the inner fender.

So I've got a nice new GM pn 15865168 on the way for Monday, I've had a Woolly Worm tear before, but having the whole thing vanish is a new one.

P.S. Sorry to see the RS go Frenchy, but that is a sweet Cobalt you snagged.
