What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Thanks for the suggestion, 843de.
Unfortunately, I have some minor body work to finish. I'm definitely not ready to enter. I'm hoping to get it done this month, then do some additional work. October is my goal!
In other news, we finally passed the Ohio E-check!
We've tried twice before, but apparently there wasn't enough data logged on our *new* set-up..so it never failed, it just wasn't ready to take the test!
Tomorrow we'll be applying for our custom plates and I couldn't be more excited! The plates are the final step in a very long process.

The car is originally from WV. Go figure we had 2 bullet dents in the rear passenger door! Luckily they were a good shot and hit 2 inches apart. My wife did all the body work herself.
Mind you my wife (swiftlikeninjas) WAS NOT a car gal before the HHR! It's really been quite an adventure, she wanted to be in the garage so I showed her what to do. Came out awesome.
We need one more fill coat and final painting. The white primer kinda sticks out in photos...lol I picked up the can of Delco Victory Red but after shooting the underside of the bumper it might be too red...Going to have to play with that one.

You can never be too careful!

I'm working on a new thread..."Project Under Budget" obviously.. because I went all out for the wife. This will be mine, I've got my eye on the auction block next weekend, there are 3 cobalts and 1 HHR. 2 with "motor unknown" ,(HHR,08 BALT') my favorite. That generally means they'll be towed through. The general public and dealers tend to shy from towed in rigs.
I plan on swapping my rebuilt gen2 and going to town, on the cheap. I'll need a proper ECM/wiring harness. But I have pretty much everything else. Here's hoping for the HHR. You ever had a husband and wife compete for HHR of the month? Could get interesting.

Well my HHR is still parked in the hanger at my office, because this is a prime example of when things go to pieces, they really go to pieces in a big way.
I'm writing from the car park of the Victoria Trauma Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia where my wife Michelle's Mom is in the ICU classified as "Critical but Stable" after suffering a massive heart attact just after noon local time.
She has undergone an emergency quadruple bypass operation, and she is fighter, if being a royal PITA means anything...Michelle's Mom will probably outlive us all.
My employers generously, allowed me the use of a Company Jet to fly myself, and my wife and son up here from Charlotte less than 90 minutes after getting the call from my Father in Law.
The hospital has provided us with a room, my Father in Law with a room, and my always capable Second Officer Jerry with a room.
All this coming not quite a month after we lost my Mom to cancer, it's not enough to have me questioning my Faith, but please Lord...how about a break.

Many thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers gang, Michelle's Mom is off the respirator and being generally miserable and b*tchy about everything.
Like I said in Post #13275, if being a PITA counts for anything, that woman will outlive us all.
I saw something new today, my copilot Jerry(who's basically stayed up all night with the rest of us), fell asleep while drinking a cup of coffee.
His hand made it about halfway to his mouth, and stopped, there he sat like a still life...eyes closed, snoring, and holding onto that cup.(Ever try to get a coffee cup away from a Zombie, not easy, dang near impossible really)
He's now in a local hotel, and he's flying home to Charlotte via a commercial flight tomorrow, he went "Above & Beyond" the call of duty...and I'll make sure his pay voucher reflects that.
