Cranked up Paddy for some errands and stuff, trying to clean my slate before heading out of the country later this week. Hit my source of ethanol free 101 octane gas on the way home, I think I heard a tiny voice say "yummy" as I was shutting the fuel door.

For me, would the 106 octant additive available at AutoZone help boost my response and such in Stiglitz as far as take off and getting up to speed?

Not that you'd really notice 1151, once you add the octane booster to even premium unleaded you may only go 1-2 points higher in octane rating. I just give the HHR's a dose of the rocket fuel on occasion as a treat, there is a bit of extra snap, but they still won't deposit you in the back seat on take off. The guys who can really benefit from the rocket fuel are our fellow brethren who have SS's. Their engines can really take advantage of the higher octane as it allows the ECM to get more aggressive with ignition timing.

Not so sure about that statement with a stock 2.2 or 2.4 ecotec! My buddies always say were polishing a terd ! The only way we know of getting rid of the lag or flat spot to 3,000 rpm on a 2.2 or 2.4 is a tune! Sure you could do it with adding a Turbo or Super Charger but you'd still need the tune!

Peace.....
