Well, I finally got around to putting the KYB struts on the front. Kinda of a pain in the ass removing and replacing the springs, but I had never done it and wanted to give it a wag.
Watched 3 U-Tube videos on the subject and seemed pretty cut and dry. You know how that goes. I was doing it the way the Auto Zone series on car repair did it. It seemed like the best approach.
Well, the first one took about 2 hours, had to compress the spring three or four times only to have to start over because of the clearance angles while it's in the vise and trying to hold everything together. The video said to use a pair of vice grips to hold the spring on the back plate while you put it back together and while it's in the vise in the horizontal position. That didn't work for me. I stood the strut straight up like it fits in the car and things flew together. The second strut only took 30 minutes to complete.
I might recommend buying the struts as a complete unit - much easier then compressing and replacing the springs. Doing it this way would be about an hour job.
Just need to test drive it now

Was anyone on the forum at the Salem, Va. VA Med Center car show? I parked next to what I think was a Shadow Edition. It was black with what looked like SS running boards and SS spoiler. It had a different stripe from any I have seen, it was white and at the rear it had HHR in the center. Pretty good car show though no HHRs entered.

My intermittent check engine light became a full time check engine light a couple drives ago....soooo...today it went into the shop. Seems one of the cam shaft position sensors failed, so both were replaced...as were the plugs. The throttle body was also "very dirty" so that was cleaned up. All in all it cost me $638.56 for the visit. It does run noticeably better now though. I almost passed out when I saw they charged me $8.99each for the plugs though.

Today was a run down to a friends for a coffee with him. Yesterday was a run to Hamilton, for Sweeties two week check up, her oncologist doesn't want to see her till the end of September!! She's coming along that well!!

Got to ride home in Paddy earlier today from the hospital, I'm not allowed to drive as of yet, so it was a "Chauffeur Driven" day.
