Had a good trip, I brought back a couple of new toys. A 154 Lionel made between 1917 and 1923 was one. Good trip.

Drove home from Cape Cod, no 40 mph issues, no oil consumption drove about 1,100 miles round trip! Lots of 40 mph roads, then 70 to 80 mph highway ! 32.6 mpg!!

Glad you had a great trip Ron!

Cut down my old Husky Liner from my Suburban to fit the back end of the HHR from lift gate to the front seats. Got it laid out fer 2 man fishing trips with everything inside a spill proof liner to catch any sand mud or debris from the wet waders.

Here it is with 72 quart fish cooler, 4 - 7' St. Croix's rigged and ready, 2 - 7 gal buckets of tackle and gear, 2 pair of chest waders, and 2 small Li'l Oscar personal coolers. with room to spare!!

Gotta seal the corners and get the heat gun out to form it to fit the platform inserts on the side pannels, and to flatten the bends on the new sides, but she is rigged and ready,, FISH ON!!!

Well took mama for a little ride this weekend, instead of interstates and truck routes we hit State roads and the heart of the a couple Cities and not on 4 lane truck routes either going thru Indiana, Ft. Wayne, and Indianapolis, got a little turned around in downtown Indy,, but back to and thru Dayton mostly state highway's, then coming back up from Dayton north to Lima Ohio run er up to well above legal speed limit getting on the interstate, I75 and 70 to 80 mph up to US30.

But when I got on US30 I ran up to a little over the century mark and not sure if it's a bad belt er if one of the plastic panels underneath or inner fenderwell was not secure enough, but something got into the serpentine belt and cut it down about one groove worth.

It never did again so my guess is we missed a pannel being tucked in the right position or a fastener missing or something. But I will be going out to the shop and having me buddy run er up on the hoist and see what we got. I know it ain't RPM's because I did a few throttle downs taching out thru the gears on our ride and until I took it well above the 70 mph speed limit, I never had an issue.

477 miles all total on her now after that 250+ mile trip, and with all the big city traffic my playing,,, we still got 30.6 MPG,,, with 3:91 final drive,,,, I'm pretty happy, I think she will get over 34 on a trip if I ain't playing, and quit with the aggressive accelerations. But first time out ya just gotta know! She won't be road that hard again,, back to the Old Man and blue hair driving habits,,,,,,

Today's do is just a wash and vacuum, the Weather Tech mats and the cargo area Husky liner work great for beach sand and leaves!!!

Great milage Bob, I hope that belt issue is something simple!

Put it on the hoist this afternoon, and well the issue was a bur on the A/C pulley. Bad news is you can't just order the pulley, so after some checking my mechanic found buying a used compressor that is guaranteed was the cheapest way to go.

Overnight and when we get or we will remove the clutch assembly and swap the pulleys on the compressor. So now I have acquired a spare compressor and clutch. and have no more in it than buying a new clutch assembly. Oh ya and a new belt,,,
