It could be worse my friend, part of my "fun" fighting the "Big C" is that I've gone from a reasonably fit 270 pounds, down to 140 pounds...and I'm always cold!

And now we're in a proper cold wave here in The Sunny South, so I'll be heading out into 28° weather at 9am today for Chemo.

Thank God that HHR's have heaters in them that could cook a side of beef, along with that wonderful Remote Start option.

Took the '06 LT in for a replacement of the right headlight bulb. I had gone through two in 4 months so I figured I must have have a bad socket or some such thing. Yup! Bad socket replaced along with bulb. My headlight lenses were almost opaque so I had them restored and polished. Also had them run down a CEL problem with the evap system. I had replaced the gas cap earlier to no avail. The mechanic tracked it down to a gnawed wire in the harness. No pigtail available so he hand re-wired it. All good now. No fogged lenses. Working headlights. No CEL. A good outcome overall.

P.S. An additional benefit of the evac fix has been that the formerly sluggish performance has noticeably improved. Still not going to be winning any stoplight GTs, but I'll take any performance boost I can get.

P.S.S. Ha! Greybeard! I feel your pain. Moving to the realm of the ridiculous... I just got my old Dodge Caravan cargo van back from a CEL light repair. I had run the codes and got a possible problem with the emissions or EGR. Replaced the gas cap... again to no avail. Mechanic diagnosis: Wired chewed up leading to the system and a few wires connected to the headlight and harness. What!!??! Keep in mind this was a different shop and the van is stored at an old girlfriend's house across town. Going rodent deterrent spray shopping today! "Mickey" and the boys must go!!!!

While Sweetie is off to Erie for a family tradition, she only missed last year , but she had an exceptable excuse, I tore into the 2.2 and replaced the timing and balance shaft chains.
The biggest pain is the plastic inner fender reinstall.
That and washing up and remembering I didn't take any pictures, arrge

Last 5 days took another southern Ohio hunting trip. 560 miles this time round trip, and woods to lodging, over 2000 miles now and when I got home, 32.3 mpg av.

I did get aggressive a couple times passing in traffic, and very happy with the down shifts and acceleration with it's, "get r done", attitude when you bottom out that go faster pedal!!

But last day got a constant loud rattling in the drive belt area,, I think it may be a belt problem, the new belt is showing some wear on the edge on the outside towards the frame,,,,, with a steel rod fer my stethoscope sounds like it's coming from the tensioner, maybe an idler bearing??? It never changed the hole 200 miles back home, and still the same? Only 29,000 mile seems strange, hope it isn't in the timing chain area,,, but will look into it after our deer gun season. I'll be needing the 4x4 Sonoma this week for that anyways,,,,
