Well after a family emergency I got to play a little
With a crazy weekend and week spent at the hospital. ( Dad got a blood infection and had a blood pressure of 40 systalic when the Ambulance got him). Any way I got out in the garage tonight to take my mind off of things, popped the hood and was really looking around at everything. Took the lid off the fuse box and could not believe that over half of the fuses and relays were loose ! Good thing that I have been reading the forum for a month. One step at a time. I hope to get the brakes checked out and pull the airbox off this weekend.
Pulled into a parking lot today and a black 2LT was sitting there... Decided to park a few spots away just to confuse the guy when he came out of the store.
So today the ZZP downpipe and Gibson exhaust were finally installed... Everything fit well although we did a little fussing with the alignment. It's nice having a shop that will take their time with you to do things right. We eliminated one clamp and welded that seam instead, clearance and tightness would have been an issue. (Gibson supplied some cheap clamps to begin with, if anyone does this plan on buying better clamps)
The car sounds totally different, in a good way, to my ears. Low throaty tone, no raspy rice-burner stuff... It might get loud when I stomp on it.
Painted the lower inside door on the drivers side rear... One more to go.
Odd that the passenger rear door is still perfect, the other three, not so much.
setting up appointments for the other work being done this summer. Rear hubs, Ground Force springs all around, tires and wheels...etc. etc.
Also looking for a winter vehicle, preferably a truck so I don't have to use the HHR as a truck, and I don't want to drive the HHR in the salt anymore....
I picked up a replacement sun visor for the passenger side from a scrap yard. I will have to wait until the rain stops before I install it. I volunteer at the Virginia Museum of Transportation and tomorrow is Grandparents Day and we have to be there to run the "O" Gauge layout and it will be there all day, so maybe Sunday.
Since the Delco exhaust VVT actuator solenoid is unavailable, Rock Auto lists these different Manufacturers. Is one better then another?
