2009 White HHR LT
  • Sanded and polished the headlights (They were hazy yellow)
  • Drain trans fluid, replaced filter and installed a new trans pan (pan had a dent and caused a leak)
  • Replaced LCA bushings
  • Replaced bad TPM sensor (discovered the wife had bought the wrong size tires for the front as well)
  • While removing the tire, discovered stud/lug was stripped and broke the stud. I knocked out old stud, went to parts store, they sold me a M12 X 1.5MM X 41.5MM. Mine is a 49MM. Maybe since it has aluminum wheels and not steel wheels.
  • Replaced blinker switch.
  • Replaced windshield wipers.
  • Gave it a quick Washing.
  • Rolled windows down to let the smoke smell air out. Kid has been using this one for the past few months. It has been rode hard and put up wet.
  • Saga will continue tomorrow.

I got the roof rails installed. Wasnt too bad a job. I measured the location of them on my other 06 HHR that has them and then I marked off the location with tape and put the rails in place. I then used a small drill bit and went thru each mounting hole on the rail feet to mark the location of the holes for the nutserts.

Wow you got a lot done!

Dead battery.
Yep, my fault. I left my OBD "dongle" plugged in. Haven't driven the car in almost 2 weeks so the little lights on the dongle were slowly draining the battery.
I'll try to charge it back up but I'm not optimistic . Voltage was down to 10.2 .It is the original battery so we'll see.

Hope you can take charge of that situation, and you can charge the battery, and not have to charge the battery.

Today, took Sweetie in for Doctors appointment, then xrays, she has bronchitis, so, bed rest and antibiotics for 10 days.
I’ve received a few packages in the mail, maybe I’ll get time to post a couple of updates.

Packed it up and headed to Florida to visit my family for Christmas. It drove like a champ and had no problem running with the big dogs. Even after several hours of stop and go driving on I75 it averaged 32mpg according to the DIC. This is the first long trip with it since I bought it in October.

For a second I thought the shadow from that sign was a poorly applied "racing stripe"...

RJAustin2, you’ll enjoy many more trips. After 9 years of cruising to Florida, we still wonder why people fly to Florida! ?

FMG, yes that is fugly, and even that pole crashing down across the hood would improve it!
but a pack of dental floss and a buff and polish, not a bad ride!

d0sitmatr, Thank you for not posting those hideous pictures!

BlindLizard, and a very Merry Christmas to you and all!!

Today we , Sweetie and I sit, she with pneumonia and I with Bronchitis, we’re in for two weeks, both Doctors orders! Hmm, we’re not complaining!
