Thank you! Today is a day off, it’s raining anyways and our local refuse yard is closed to the public for now, so I’ll have to stack up the old lumber out the back behind the pine trees.
Put the new rotors and pads on the rear. I'll do the fronts another day. (Still recovering from my surgery, so I've got to go easy)
Bedded the new pads in and all looks good.
Old stock rears.
New drilled and slotted rotors.
FMG- Looking Real good, Hope you get feeling better soon, I know recovering from surgery can take some time (depending).. Follow the DR's orders, this I have the most trouble with.
My ride got another day sleeping, but got all the property mowed, edged/ whacked & blown.
Went out to my local auto recycling facility. Found and purchased the red cap for the power lug by the fuse box.
Cost a whole buck. Checked that box on my list.

Kind of an all over the place day, I installed a sail panel for shade on the deck, cleaned up the scraps of lumber in the yard, our local landfill is opening to the public in Tuesday.
I removed all nails from the old railing pieces. The dump won’t take the wood with nails in it.
I detailed the Terrain, spray waxed it , it glistens in the sun.
Then I turned my attention to that transmission output shaft seal in the passenger side of the HHR , that went surprisingly quick, love that YouTube, a video showed me how to use pvc plumbing pipe and fitting to tap in the seal, and use the handle from my floor jack to install the inner cup on the stub shaft.
OK. Finished up the brake work. Got the front rotors and pads put on.( did the rears 2 days ago)
Went out to do the "bedding in" per the instructions. 5 successive 40-10mph hard brakings followed by 5, 30-5mph hard brakings.
Passed my neighbor on her morning walk. She probably thought I had gone nuts speeding up and slamming on the brakes over and over.
FYI. Both front stock rotors were worn thinner than the min. thickness allowance. I did "mic" them. In other words, they were worn out. The original brake pads were only worn 1/2 way after 56k miles.
1st vehicle I've ever owned where the rotors wore out that soon.
Some where of recent i posted that i had the check engine light turn on
and i was gonna have to go get it read. Well i guess it sorted it self out
as the light had gone out Its been a few days since this and still no light.
Woohoo. . i am happy wasn't looking forward to a mechanical expense.
Today Saturday Blackie hid in the garage again... more rain today
and more to come on Sunday... Hope its better weather for every one else.
Today we head out to the nursery for flowers to plant at the cemetery for Sweetie’s father’s grave and the front garden at her mom’s house, then at 3:30 I’ll be sitting down to watch the nascar race at Darlington. I’m gonna wash the BlackSwan now and give it a spray wax.
