I drove mine in the rain... Seeing as the forecast for all next week is rain, I'm sure I will do it again.

DwRed- Hang in there man. It'll get better.. Bummer about the CEL again.

Mine just stayed parked, it's plugged in to battery MINDer. So the mrs & I took the bikes out today, for some fresh air. She loves driving the Road King.

Yes, you are absolutely right about ventilation being critical on an I/O unit with an enclosed engine like mine. I have a power blower and made sure the intake and exhaust hoses are in the correct position. I also run the blower for several minutes before starting the engine. Also added a fire, water and fume detector with a dash alarm. The consequences of a gasoline fume ignition event are usually tragic. Sometimes I see other boat setups that are an accident waiting to happen.

I do plan on having a USCG Auxiliary boat inspection done ASAP just to be sure I haven't overlooked something.

Oh, and thank you for your service to our great country in the USCG.

Yes I know how that is, it when I start doing damage, I need to quit also.
I used to use a battery tender from Deltran. But it boiled out my Fat Boy battery, back in 2015.

So I did some researching & came across Battery MINDers®, bunch of aircraft engineers that developed very Smart chargers.
Mine are (BM1500) & have external temperature compensators that will adjust float & charge rates by the ambient temp. I've had 2 for over 5 years, & just got another. 5 year or 10 year warranties..

DW get that code read, and let us know what it is.

fastsuv, I don’t think you overlooked anything, but it’s good to have that inspection, to confirm it.

Today, not much to do, and rain is on the way at noon, so I might just take the day off and relax, maybe a drive out for a coffee.

We will need pictures of that lowered HHR and the exhaust system!

so, no rain yet as predicted, Sweetie and I had more stuff from our basement to go to the landfill, that was a 45 minute trip, we enjoyed a nice lunch on the new deck, then went out in the country for a walk in one of the old railroad track areas, then we stopped by for a coffee a just watched the traffic roll by , I saw several HHR’s , one very clean Victory red SS , there aren’t any car shows started up yet, so this was a fun alternative.
Sweetie took these photos of our old friend’s ‘32 Plymouth, he has owned it since 1958, he just turned 80, last week

Nice that he changes it up every decade or two

He and his wife have done all the work on it except the paint.
