What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Replaced gas cap today. Just preventative measure due to a CEL code I got months ago. Auto parts store 'experts' swore it had nothing to do with the gas cap. BTW, ordered extra goodies from RockAuto; used the discount code and saved 6 bucks. Ordered Friday, received today. Front & rear brake pads for my sons car, oil & filter for MIL's and daughters car and a side marker lamp bulb for $0.39 instead of $6.49/pair at local auto parts store!
My 2 new cv axles including taxes and shipping , were $37.00 less then buying one rebuilt cv axle up here !
RockAuto rocks!
We just got home from taking dinner over to MIL’s , that left or right turn clicking is more noticeable, Sweetie heard it . She’s ordered the BlackSwan parked until the cv axles get here and installed.

Just got in from a great day, a trip to the north west and a visit with the shmoo and his wife and grandchildren, had a great visit, thanks for the hospitality! We discussed what I can expect with the clicking cv axles. Then we headed back home , decided to take the MIL out for dinner, so we picked her up and drove to Fort Erie and to our favourite restaurant, had a great visit with the owner.
I did take the BlackSwan on the drives today, the cv axles only clicked turning tighter slow corners and leaving a stoplight.
I’ll be replacing the axles tomorrow,
The new axles showed up as promised, today before 8 pm ! Thank you RockAuto, and FedEx! I ordered on Monday August 2 and they are delivered Thursday August 5 very great service!! They shipped from Syracuse NY

Drove out to my sons house and took him out for lunch.
Also picked up some furniture as he is moving to Texas.
One of the peices was the rocking chair I used when he was a baby 23 years ago.
It brought back many good memories.
I'm going to miss him.

I guess I misunderstood your post "My 2 new cv axles including taxes and shipping , were $37.00"
I took that as both for that price, too good a deal
$37.00 less then buying 1 cv axle up here. So a very good deal!
I’ll be installing those this morning.
I just finished up and road tested, no more clicking noises! It’s a rather easy job, to do. I back off the 30 mm axle nut , then remove the wheel remove the caliper mount bolts then remove the caliper and tie it off to the coil spring, then remove the two bolts for the strut, that gives enough room to get the axle out. Of course jack stands and a floor jack are involved and the pry bar to pop the axle out! I was lucky the stub shaft did not come out.
