Custom refinishing of your rims, includes minor repairs, powder coat, applying the metal coating, and a clearcoat finish (which I imagine could be tinted.) Pricy, right? The $1000 was perhaps a “qualifying” price given at a car show booth, for rather large sample truck wheels. Bargain hunter repellent. I imaging the actual price might vary a bit, depending.

Obviously not a budget solution, as you can find brand new wheels for less. What you get is the ability to pick colors as well as the brightness of the metalizing.

Today, I cleaned up a small area of corrosion, at the bottom inside of the rear hatch, sanded , primered, painted . After 10 years it cleaned up very nicely.

Is there a list somewhere of what rattle can mfg./colors come closet to match OEM HHR colors?

For the tailgate, I rattle can sprayed. I used Duplicolor products, match is fairly good.
I’ve had great colour match with

https://www.automotivetouchup.com/to...olet/2009/hhr/

my 2LT is a 2011 Carbon Flash metallic
my LS was 2007 Imperial Blue metallic

both matched up very well

I gotta do this to the seams of the front doors. I see a tiny bit of rust trying to do it duty - I hate rust! It's Satan's makeup! Lol.

I used Dawn and clear water to clean off debris, then a small stainless steel wire brush, some brake cleaner spray to clean any wax or oils, then a light scuff with red Scotchbrite pad, another rubbing alcohol wipe then grey primer, body coloured paint and clear. Fairly painless
