Those chrome bits could have all been changed... Original owner liked chrome.

Today I spent a couple of hours fixing a paint problem from yesterday.
I sanded , masked and sprayed the headlights with clear coat for plastic, it turned milky white over night.
So today I sanded all that off the lens and buffed and polished the plastic, much clearer and cleaner, I decided to try just buff and polish the passenger side headlight and it cleaned up nice, I’m just to cheap to splurge on a pair of B2E black chrome OEM headlights from RockAuto.
I took Sweetie out to the hospital today for blood tests and an X-ray , we then went for breakfast and a fine cup of coffee.
going to be moving the panel stuff to the SS. Im a thirty plus year body guy so this damage is a piece of cake. Its pretty much superficial with just a little pull on the B pillar. Swapping the quarters over isnt to bad either, i plan on grafting the whole qtr not just filling the hole. . . . and now ya got me freaked out about it being a clone lol . . . it cant be . . . it just cant be lol

edit: just did a quick google search and it seems to come up legit. Also a few online decoders and it checks out . . . whew! (my Panel conversion will have the correct body color handles and mirrors but it is puzzling why they are on this. Suppose they could have been changed by previous owner)

Yes it’s a real SS , perhaps as Greybeard points out a PO could have changed the door handles , door mirror caps, beauty bar and exhaust to their liking!

Yeah I've been experimenting with that stuff a little. Polycarbonate is very sensitive to chemical attack. You're not supposed to paint polycarbonate helmets because it could weaken them. Some tails I did crazed badly when I clearcoated them. To paint it you need a suitable barrier coat but I really don't know too much about what will work. I want to try Meguiar's headlight coating, which worked well for me but doesn't last too long, for a barrier coat. I imagine there might be specialized professional clearcoats designed to be polycarbonate-safe.
