fastsuv,
That's what I was thinking. I just thought it was kind of cheesy.
Should I take it down when the thermo-tec matting goes up? Or just cover it?
Took the sunroof out, cleaned and lubed everything I could and reinstalled.
Not a job to do by yourself, but with a little finess I got er dun.
Steve, good memory, Oldblue (me) did install lowering springs in Oldblue (the HHR) there are a lot of fairly new parts on it, the steering rack, catalytic converter , LCA’s, struts, shocks, battery.
Lonwane glad you got the sunroof cleaned and lubed.
Today, I changed headlight bulbs in the BlackSwan .
I also had a chance to get that drywall hung downstairs, my friend stopped by, he measured and cut while I hung the sheets, it’s a hip wall deal downstairs, so half sheet on the bottom and the top .

Lonwane:
I would just put the Thermo-Tec over it, just in case the Thermo-Tec isn't enough to stop any resonance. I don't see any negatives to keeping it on and going over it.
I am also looking at removing the sunroof on my daughter's HHR to fix it. In a few posts back, I described how her sunroof stopped halfway. I managed to do a temporary repair (just closing it for now) by dropping the headliner far back enough to access the motor. When I get more time I will also remove the whole headliner and sunroof and check it out like you did.
Did you remove the headliner out the back hatch? That's one big piece.
It came out the back with a little wiggling.
I had to drop the front and rear seats to get the angle needed.
I also pulled the rear hatch seal to give me more room.
you mean you don’t wear your tin foil hat to get better FM reception?
It doesn’t improve Sirius XM , either!
I’ve thought about boom mat or Dynamat, but always figured maybe next summer, so maybe this summer, we’ll see.
I’m waiting till it’s dark enough out to see if I need to align my headlights, the new bulbs are not designed to clock the leds in the same way my old ones were.

Thanks for the info.
Now I know what to expect and what I have to do (lower seats, etc).
Must be a real tight fit to need removal of the hatch seal!
