Two best days of boating. They day you buy it, and the day you sell it.
Friend has a boat? Friend indeed. and I'll pay the fuel for the day!
To me, a boat is cheaper than a psychiatrist! I avoid the idiots on the water and at the marina and spend odd days and hours on the water or just sitting in my slip. Nothing more peaceful and mind clearing than being on the water. The main reason why I bought my HHR was to save gas money on the 70 mile round trip to marina and back and the ability to carry bulky or awkward stuff like rods and coolers and even my dock box fit with no problem.
Been a bit crazy with MIL in the hospital !
Went to visit family in Ct, m the had to go to hospital. Bronchitis , low O2 levels , but does not look like heart issues, She should be out this weekend if all stay stable :) Then her son will bring her back to Maine with a few O2 bottles for the trip .
Her daughter ,My Ex. lives close to her ,so she will keep a eye on her !
She may be my Ex. MIL but we are still close
I was going to change the Cabin AF , Engine AF and finally get a chance to put the front speakers in :O Funny the drivers side speaker started to work :O I heard the signal clicker w/o my hearing aids lol
Weather been too chilly or rain :O The wind is cleaning some leaves off the lawn and my grass is not all brown now lol I am seeing grees grass :)
So good weather will be coming sooner or later !
Weekend looking good so maybe It will get done.
Picked up a door panel pliers tool at HF, I like tools and it was cheap lol
So will see if that is better then the plastic and metal trim tools !
Thanks! Like I said, the key to boating is to try to save a buck or two wherever and whenever you can, especially on replacement parts. Freshwater, northern used parts for example, are usually way better because of the short season up here. Going to pick up a used trailer next week so I gotta get that hitch on my HHR as soon as possible. (Lol, just kidding - my HHR isn’t THAT versatile to tow a 25’ boat!).
I live near Port Huron, it's practically a legal requirement to have a boat in Michigan
Got my 23' Wellcraft for $3500 last year, ready to go. Just got a slip for the season, so no more jockeying at the launch ramp!
I decided to spend an hour and swap tires! Took off the winters and installed the summers , just headed out to relearn the TPMS sensors with the EL-50448 tool. Then we’ll be headed to the farm a gate was broken down last night! Damn kids on their quads! Hey, it keeps me busy!

Very nice boat! Lol, boats are definitely a big thing in our state. In Michigan I found out anywhere in the state you're less than 90 miles from any of the Great Lakes, and only six miles from any body of water period. Slips are expensive but they make boating much more enjoyable - I've gone that route or rack storage since I've had my current boat. Now you can drive the HHR to the slip and even just sit on the boat when weather is bad or when you don't want to use gas. The only reason why I'm getting a trailer after all this time is because winter storage and mechanics are much cheaper away from the water.
I figured out the TPMS system, install wheels & tires, drive a 5 mile round trip, retorque the lug nuts! Then use the EL-50448 tool to relearn the sensors. I had trouble setting them before our drive, the RR set off the trouble light for the TPMS sensors, when I got home I did the relearn procedure again and they all beeped the horn as they should! Another test drive for 20 miles one way then back home, no problem.
So today, we’re headed out for a drive , going anywhere!
My M.I.L. made it home from Ct. The Co. in Ct did not give her her Oxygen r Concentrator like they were supposed to :O
My Ex found out when she met up with her brother in NH . :O
They contacted the Co. and they are in several states and got to meet up with their rep on the way home all is good there !
Took the HHR out for a short cruise to listen to 4 working speakers lol
Listen to the new speakers first time with my hearing aids on and Oh yea worth the trouble lol
If you ever have to remove the door panels These clip Pliers are nice !
They are not smooth on the blades so sanding or use a file to remove the ruoght edges is a must to avoide scratching paint !
And the cheap panel Tool from HF was well worth the 9$ made it fairly easy for most clips
And those clips .55 cents each at Rock Auto or$ 5.50 each at the dealer :O https://www.harborfreight.com/panel-...ers-63699.html
I hear the world a lot different with the hearing aids on, I even hear my Bird fart lol
But what I pick up in sound I would have missed before , I would never have know my speakers were sounding bad :O
You got those speakers changed, good job!
I changed grilles today , in May I need to spend a day paint correction, clay bar , touch up and buff and ceramic coat. I have to remember, it’s 11 years old, I’ve only owned it for 3 and it’s not a show car ! Just my DD!
