What's the difference in the axle beams besides maybe brakes? I've been considering fabbing up an axle beam of my own.

 

I grabbed all the bits n bobs, got the flex lines and e brake cables.
The HHR has probably the easiest rear axle to pull I've ever done.

 

Saturday my Daughter's hhr (formally mine) got a new starter. Was going to work on a control arm,. But just didn't have enough left in me to start that task.

 

thanks, yeah right now im just going through it and getting to know this one, i think im gonna hang on to it for a bit. Just grabbed it for a daily till my SS is on the road but its got potential to be a really good car (very clean rust free and runs well) The 02 codes stayed away for the weekend but two crept back this morning, still runs great but i really like code free if possible.

 

I had the valve cover of of my SS 5-sp today to have a look a couple things (all looks fine, and newish chain nice and tight) but decided that it would be nice to have an oil pressure gauge for peace of mind. Noodled around in the forums for where to put the sensor and don’t yet feel confident about the best answer.

Common sense says to plumb it in where the existing unit is, which I presume is just a dumb switch. That seems to be an OK choice after reading this thread:

Haven’t even begun to look at what products are available. The obvious and easy place to mount the gage would be on the pillar, as the car has the RPD.

So I wondered if anyone has thoughts on whether this is worth the trouble or opinions on the latest product that would work. I suppose this could be applied to any HHR, not just SS.

I’ve driven HHR’s for 13 years, never really thought about adding an oil pressure gauge, perhaps a tee at the switch location above the starter

 

Ran some errands and met a friend for lunch. He'd not seen my HHR yet, so he checked it out and I let him drive it. He thinks it's pretty cool. Loved the fact that it's a manual.

 

Checked the oil pump pressure relief valve cap and it’s dry, but there is a drip of oilon the driveway , I’m hoping it’s just from the frame and engine dripping residue .
if not then it’s either the front engine cover ( new gasket in March 2021) or the oil pan is leaking in the vicinity.
I’m going to clean that area, then watch for leaks.

 

My marker bulbs came in and got them all replaced !!!!
