Today, I softened up the double sided tape that the chrome strip on the belt line was attached to, and removed all the residue, I used Goo Gone, it’s fairly quick and easy , after you soak it awhile.

No more chrome strip

Goo Gone works pretty good!

Today,
an oil change and a search to find passenger side fluid dripage,
may be another oil seal leak.

Look at the harmonic balancer area , the timing chain tensioner, oil pan and the output shaft of the transmission.

Swapped in the SS rear axle, and found a little rust spot:

Had to torch 2 bolts off as well

Good news is if I hadn't done this, a good pothole or RR tracks could have yanked this right out. Now I just need to find where the solid rail ends, and fab up a piece and weld it in.. The rocker is pretty bad too, but I'll take care of that at a later date. Guess my panel is going to be a driveway queen for a while.

I backed the BlackSwan into the driveway to park it last night , so front end down the driveway slope, and gravity helped the oil drip come back. So in August I’ll be resealing the oil pan and front cover, might spring for a valve cover gasket set.

Shame about that rust , mongo, time to break out the cutoff wheel and mig welder.

Do you park it near any Harley's? I hear it's contagious.

A little fabwork and it'll be better than new.

Not too bad, at least by Michigan standards. Still has paint on most of it. A lot of dirt roads in my area, and the potholes and gravel tend to attack the driver side more than the passenger side
