Another mileage milestone. I bought my HHR within a month of buying my SUV but I've put on about three times the mileage on the HHR. Even on long trips, I find myself taking the HHR because of the difference in gas mileage - 27 mpg for the HHR versus 21 for the SUV. I do miss the comfort of the SUV but the difference in costs can make a big difference on those long trips - so long as the trip is flat and all interstate - the HHR doesn't like long grades, especially with a passenger and a load in back!

(Sorry for the glare - it's showing 27.6 avg. mpg.)

Spent yesterday in the local Emergency room. X-rays show that I have a broken bone in my left foot( yes, my clutch foot). I’m in a boot and on crutches so I can’t drive the SS.
How did it happen ? That’s the weird part. No clue. I had no trauma of any kind. Just woke up with my foot hurting 5 days ago. Got worse day by day till the ER visit.
Next stop is the Ortho doctor to see if surgery is needed.
Old age sucks !
The alternative to getting old is worse, lol.

Well, last Saturday I was doing some work in the house. I was carrying a sledgehammer and some other tools to the barn, down the steps at the back of the house (we are on a hill with a walk-out basement at the rear). On the bottom step, there was some ice covered with a thin layer of snow. I slipped on it and kept myself from hitting my back on the steps. Unfortunately, I did that by putting my left wrist out behind me. Snap went my bone just above the wrist. Friday I am getting some new hardware (plate and screws) installed into my hand. I have a splint with a wrap for now. cast coming soon.
