Today we scrape the windshield and side windows of the ice and snow that fell last night on top of the freezing rain and sleet from yesterday afternoon. The roads are slick with ice and snow. Then we will venture out to the grocery store to restock our fridge and cupboards. Then home to stay warm and safe

Rain washed the salt off the roads yesterday so I ran the LS thru the car wash with the underbody spray.

Orderd a steering motor. The dash said, "power steering". I checked all the fuses both under hood and fuse panel by passenger feet. I read alot of blogs and posts all stating the power steering motor. If ya got any advice i can use it. i hope I'm doing the right thing.

Take the HHR to your local GM dealership, the motor for the electric power steering is covered by an extension of your warranty and some years it was a recall.

2006 would be the "Specail Coverage," basically a lifetime warranty regardless of ownership, $0 repair. Any GM dealer can take care of it. You may need to be persistent, because such coverage is uncommon, some dealers haven't heard of it, may not beleive it, may look for a recall, which applies only to later HHR's.

Here's a screenshot. Full doc is 5 pages.
