What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?

Your valve stems are alum due to the tire pressure sensors. Most likely your aftermarket caps are steel or tin. Mixed metal oxidation will screw you.
I know cause it happened on my TBSS. The chrome caps seized to the valve stems.... removing the caps snapped the stems in half... leaking all the tire's air out in about 20 seconds... Each sensor is $60-$100. Requires each tire to be removed to replace.
So I repeat... don't do it!

If the new caps aren't aluminum remove them at once.

Two things......
1. I have an '07 so no TPMS and the valves are brass.
2. For $2.25, you expect them to be metal? They are cheap chromed plastic.
So, no issues and good enough for the winter wheels.

Wife went in and bought it while I guarded the car.
I NEVER park near the door at any store but had to due to the media-promoted consumer-delirium filled lot.
We hit & split & boogied back to safety down the backroads
