Dang!
Any chance you shorted something (or erred) in the process of the horn install. Seems strange an electrical install, then an electrical problem.......just saying.

Anyway, the alternator, IIRC, is an integral part of the engine block. Probably not to many have gone bad....makes for higher prices on the re-manufacture, you know, supply and demand. You may also want to check pricing with Partstaxi.com, GMpartshouse.com, GMpartsdirect.com....watch out for shipping charges. Alternators are relatively heavy, shipping can be expensive.

That is too funny! my co workers would probably say the same. Todd (uma)

Slogged to my office and back in the rain, as usual folks around here were sliding off of I-85 like it was greased with Crisco. My average speed from Charlotte to Kannapolis was 16 mph according to the DIC display, so much for leaving early...ugh!

Did you try any boneyards for a used alternator ? Probably the cheapest route..

As Snoopy mentioned
, strange to have that problem only a few weeks after doing horn upgrade..

Adjusted the air in the tires - noticed they were about 4-5 lbs low in each. Yep, cooler weather.

Oh, and getting 843's rain, AGAIN! Thanks for that!

843's the culprit ??? I was wondering who to blame for this lame weather.

left the short bus and drove Dads crown vic over to Chuckies shop to get Him some good american oil in it. It drives a little different than the SS.

Now don't blame me for the weather guys, I'm getting rained on too ya know. You need to blame this guy here, WSOC's beloved weatherman Larry Sprinkle. Yeah, that's his name, been doing the weather in the Charlotte area for what seems like forever.

Back to OT, slogged through the rain to my office here in Charlotte, loving these Continental tires in the "liquid sunshine".

OK I blame WSOC's beloved weatherman Larry Sprinkle...

The rains made it over the mountain to us yesterday...

Back on OT, I unhooked the battery tender from my ride... Ahhh, That's about it.. Very exciting stuff..

Thanks for the parts house tips. Could have saved about $100 had I looked for it myself. Live & learn.

It would be my luck to have caused it by changing the horn.
