Nothing worse that a toothache Sound like the recovery is going well, nice the HHR seat is like a kitchen chair. I noticed a headlight out, so I took it out put in another one, had to seat it a couple times to get it to fire. Drove around 60miles it's out again, I'm thinking it's not the bulb. Anybody know if that is normal??

Not normal Sam, by seating it I'm assuming you mean attaching the connector to the back of the bulb, and not meaning you had issues getting the bulb into the headlamp assembly itself.

Was it a fresh bulb, and did you wipe the glass capsule down with an alcohol wipe before installing it?

No, twisting into the assembly, no just one of the four I have from colecting headlights, and yes with denatured alcohol. Hate to buy bulbs when I have so many, and my plan is for hid projectors, might have to throw more money. BTW turn the tire out, in don't work.

I'm thinking that the old o-ring from the burned out bulb is stuck in the housing, that'll happen on occasion.

Well it happened today. The key stuck issue on my 09. Was able to turn it off and get it out but the way it was bound and dragging as I took it out means the last turn on will be when I go to the dealer. Luckily I have 1800 miles left on the B to B. Its a pain in the but, however I still love the vehicle and at least Robert Chevrolet lives up to its service standards.

Can't wait to see the pics. The granite black HHR will look sweet with the bermuda black tails!! Todd (Uma)

Well Mike, like I always say, there are two kinds of HHR owners. Those who've had the key get stuck, and those yet to have the key get stuck, sorry you've gone from the former to the latter.

Glad to hear you have a good dealer and that the key sticking hasn't soured you on your HHR.

As for me....Nothing exciting, office and back in the rain and drizzle, Boo Boo picked up another layer of crud.

muffler add

Just got rid of that tortoise shell of an oem muffler and put in a magnaflow 11225. Apparently the diameter of pipe coming from engine to muffler is smaller than 2 inches. No wonder they are so quiet. Sounds good at start up and sounds just right in the acceleration now. Even scuffed up the chrome tip and sprayed it with Black VHT. Modding an HHR is fun.
