Figured out why my passenger rear tire seems like it has a slow leak sometimes. I found a piece of something metal stuck in it. I guess I'll need a plug.

Make sure its fixed right Breadfan, I can tell you from working in a tire store, pieces of metal don't make "clean" holes in tires...so a plug and patch combo will be the best repair.

Tire repair

Also any proper repairs should only be made in the tread section.

On the shoulder is asking for trouble imo..

And to really rain on Breadfan's parade, tire repairs cancel out the tire's speed rating, so your V or Z rated performance tire is now a "P" rated tire as far as the tire manufacturer is concerned.

**Unless the manufacturer's repair procedures are followed to the letter, and even then some companies like Michelin and Pirelli consider the speed rating to be nullified.

Still wrapping my head around my new post Andrey.

I really like the Hippo's new parking lot, it looks happy there!

Thanks for all the helpful advice. I like posting here because even if I think I know what's up, I've got the best people looking over my shoulder when something goes wrong to remind me just in case. It was in the tread, whew. I kinda figured the speed rating would be shot. I remember thinking at the time, gee, I guess I won't ever be going 150 on this tire. I don't know what compelled me to look just then, but where it was holed was exactly on top where it was easiest to find. Since it got hot, it didn't lose any more air until the last couple of days when it was cloudy and cooler, so I hadn't taken a hard look at it lately. I feel better knowing now, rather than finding out later.

I've got one too Breadfan. Drivers side rear tire. Super small hole but I've been putting in air once a week. JUST barely on the sidewall too
