What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
4 Sportline springs...4 KYB shocks/struts and no busted knuckles....No bounce,,very solid..flat cornering, again. Originals were so worn out car would waddle on every road bump..supplier said sportlines will not work..oops.Compared to the GL's, the rear is about the same and the front is just a tad higher. Front end quieter too, even though it "wasnt' making any noise to begin with...rear quiet also...as for everyday driving the KYBs are fine on the SS
Snoopy, sorry you had some problems, I have had a few of the Mits DLP's without a hint of a problem. I know others had some problems, even had my own early scare, with a 3 month bulb change at first, but Mits replaced it saying could have weakend the Lamp in shipment, it did not count against my 1 replacement with them for my 1 year warranty, after that Not 1 problem.
And I run them, 24/7 Literally. They are on day and night, only time I turn it off is to allow the bulb to cool before moving the TV to clean or change a bulb, then moved back into place and turned right back on.
My last one a WD-65732 went just about 6 years running 24/7 with lamp changes at around 14-18 months. And on 02-13-12, I had 35,638 hours of use I checked (I did the Menu 2 4 7 0 thing to check it.) More on it since then, I wanted a bigger set and it going out was kinda perfect timing, otherwise I'd still be watching the 65" until it died.
I still might have it checked out, and if it's a cheap repair get it fixed and put it in my garage.
Or sell it.
Replacement Lamps alone were always Under $100.00, usually finding them for around 60 - 80 bucks.
A whole replacement Lamp (bulb) with the Lamp Housing was 80-120.00 bucks depending on where you bought from.
Research even Before buying this 82" Wd-82840 the Lamps including the housing are between $75.00-$149.00 again depending on where you buy from. Higher wattage lamp in this 82" one over the 65".
Lamp replacement takes all of 2 minutes or less. I always keep a Spare Lamp on hand so if a lamp went out, I swap in the spare, then place my order for another, never any down time waiting for a lamp to ship that way. Or no panic during a sporting event if a lamp went out. Swap the lamp, rewind the DVR and continue watching without missing a thing.
Awsome TVs and the best bang for your buck. IMO.
82" Mits DLP 3D TV
Samsung 3D Blu-ray player
2 Pairs of XPAND 3D 3DG-X103 Active Shutter 3D Glasses
Monster Power Audio/Video Surge Protector
2 Blu-Ray Movies
1 3D Blu-Ray Movie
And I added a 5 Year Extended Warranty
All for around $2,550.00 out the door loaded on my trailer.
I worked myself a pretty darn good Deal here.
I had 5 Grand to spend on just about Any type of TV I wanted, I again chose a Mits DLP without hesitation.
BIG and BEAUTIFUL Picture. I Almost bought the 92" one sitting next to the 82" but the 82" is about as big as my living room can handle. A Good Upgrade going from my 65" to the 82". I did not think the 72" one was a big enough Upgrade from the 65" so the 82" WD-82840 was my choice.
I add a 5 year extended warranty, I get the first replacement Lamp (bulb) fron Mits, then after that I get 2 from the extended warranty coverage. After that they are on me, but the rest of the TV is covered on the warranty, and if they can't fix it for some reason, I get every dime I paid for the TV back to go buy another TV. They do not pro rate it, you get the full amount back you paid. As I said tho, only ever had to use the allowed Lamp replacements within the 5 years.
TV's sadly are not built like the old CRT 25" Console Tanks we were used to, None, led, lcd, plasma, or dlp are made to last forever like those old sets were.
I have had plasma's and lcd Tv's die within 2 years, I use them in the bedrooms for space reasons, so None are without faults these days.
Very pleased with my choice here.
I do not like going to a movie theater and listening to people on cell phones and others that just won't STFU in a theater thinking they need to talk to the screen, so a living room theater is much more to my liking.

The old 65" for size comparisson.

I will need to replace the audio cabinets now.

The 92" one is HUGE even next to the 82", but I would have to move everything around to find a place for it had I got it. Now with the 82" I have to replace the stand and the audio towers with something else to Fit the 82" on the same wall.
Watching that NBA game you can see how clear the picture is. I was trying to get a decent picture without a flash hotspot on the TV.
I have a set of Mirrors on the opposite wall behind my couch, they reflect on the screen now, the 65" has a Matt Finish screen, the new 82" has a new style Shiney Screen.
I need to Cover the mirrors as they are actually glued to the wall, some Custom mirror install, that was done before we bought the house. My Wife loves them, and so they will stay, but I will figure out a way to Cover them up with fabric like in movie theaters or something. Annoying to see a back reflection on the screen.
I wish they were just Hung, so I could just move them to another wall or room.
HD movies and shows are looking Awsome. Seems once you go big screen, you can never go smaller on your next set.
I never bothered buying a blu-ray player, at the time I bought the 65", the War was still on between it and HD format.
Havent watched the blu ray or the 3D yet, still getting it all set up and deciding on the new stand and what all to keep and what to let go. Looking at new Klipsch Speakers for the surround sound. The Bose 5.1 is fine, but 6 years old and I always meant to Upgrade to some Klipsch speakers, just never got around to it.
On Topic, I took Morticia out for short drive and got an ex large dunkin donuts coffee.
