What kind of car did you give up for your HHR?
2006 Cobalt Coupe. The Cobalt was one of the best cars I have ever owned. 130,000 miles without a single mechanical failure, not even a light bulb. Still had the original battery and brakes. I did have to replace the tires at 90k because they were starting to dry rot but still had plenty of tread left.
I chose the HHR because it is such a close relative to my old Cobalt. If it gives me any where near the service the Cobalt did, I will be extremely happy.

I gladly gave up my 2001 VW Jetta. It was a base model I got from an (unknown to me) shady private dealer. About 3 days after getting it, the CEL came on and then would cycle off and on irregularly. Took it back, they replaced the MAF sensor. Shortly afterwards the AC stopped working...then both low beam headlights stopped working after an authorized VW dealer replaced the AC. They ran the codes and said MAF was not calibrated right, one of the banks was running super rich, but they had no idea why the headlights quit working and wanted me to replace the wiring harness.
With all the problems, I said no thanks to that, and shortly after my drivers side door selenoid quit working...and then none of my doors would open with the remote. The final straw was when I had to push start it to get to and from work for the last 4 days of ownership.
So I say good riddance to that blue pile o'junk...lol!

My used 2009 HHR replaced a 1999 Ford F-150 with 270k miles that got ~12 mpg. I loved that truck but it started getting too many serious mechanicals - AC compressor pulley was failing so replaced that, then starter and now the bottom engine pulley seized. It got to the point it was cheaper to have a car payment again. Truck is in my driveway now
I sold my 2004 Mazda3; it was pushing 200,000 miles and starting to show it's age. I recently got a new job and needed something I could haul broadcasting equipment in...Couldn't pass up on my HHR; how many 5-speeds can there be?
The last DD was a 2002 Ford ZX2 5sp Oxford White with bolt-ons, suspension upgrades and mild mods and had 200K on the OD. It was my second Ford I have had that ended up with getting 200K miles out of......just hope my first Chevy DD will be as good.
