What kind of car did you give up for your HHR?
Tere tere vana kere, i See your point.
Driving with old US iron since i got my drivers license...its fun to answer people who are wondering why drive US cars; "well i´ve heard some people drive even with german cars in winter nowadays, its hard to imagine! Terrible risks some people are willing to take in traffic"
my daily driver list "evolution" goes from 67 impala, 66 dart, 75 wagoneer, 79caprice, 85aries, 87 caprice, 91 wrangler, 79 camino, 91 park avenue. 08hhr is the newest car EVER in my scale. some of those i still own but drive only in summer.

Hello from Europe:) I sold my 2006 Dodge Charger 3.5 V6 and bought 2008 HHR 2.4 LT with all possible options and a small mileage. Sure Charger had some advantages (it is a RWD car after all), but I like my new HHR. So far found 1 fault - cruise control. Doesn't work. Heard that brake light bulb can be the problem, but had no chance to see if there's a dead one yet. Wasn't able to find any fuses related to the cruise control. What fuse is it?
Kind of odd that a guy from Europe bought an American car, but here people mainly drive BMWs, Audis, Hondas etc. - I don't like coming outside a store and trying to find my car among hundreds similar. HHR is really rare here (so was Charger and Alero I had years ago), so it's really nice having something unique.

2004 PT Cruiser Turbo-lite. Our second PT. My wife liked them, because she has had both knee replaced, and car entry can be difficult. I had put about $3300 into it in the past year, but it still needed work. We found a 2011 HHR at a Toyota dealer that had been an Enterprise rental. Why Enterprise didn't sell it themselves, I don't know.
We like the HHR very much. When we picked it up, we wn south on I81 to Staunton, VA, and then back the Skyline drive. Our HHR has the 2.4 engine, and power is very close to the PT. The gas mileage is much better on the HHR. Our first 4000 (app) mpg average was 25.4. That included a trip to Welland, ON to visit our son. The rest was local driving. That compares to a 20,000mile check of the PT which if I remember was about 22mpg.
One thing I liked better with the PT is the center console. The cup holders were better placed in the PT.
