My 06 was built 12/05 and I bought it 3/06 with15 miles on the clock, I have almost 40K on the clock and the only problem I've had was the stuck ignition key. The car runs great, gets great mileage. In reading some peoples problems, I hesitate getting another on as mine has been problem free.

I think it was a strange car LT1, 2.4L, no ABS, no traction control, no side air bags, auto, chrome package, six CD changer, and roof rails. The 09s come with ABS and traction control as standard equipment (I think).

Dates are listed in my sig. No complaints, but think it will have to go in soon. I am getting that "clunk" in the front over bumps and better get it taken care of while it's still in warranty. But I have been very happy with it.

Current Mileage: 15,234
Problems to date: at 700 miles had to have both front rotors and rear durm's turned for shimmy......At 14200 miles had to jump her for a dead battery and promptly lost the use on key fobs and tire monitor system. Dealer reflashed the computer and all is well again....Other than those she os running great.

Not so strange. My car has the same equipment except no roof rails or 6-CD changer.

Mine was built in 7/05 and I still enjoy the car, although I do get bored with cars after the second year. I'm going to get this one paid off and just daily drive it until the wheels fall off.

Oh, for those keeping track, I had another flat tire this last week and had to replace yet another tire. I can't even remember how many flats I've had, but this is the third time I've replaced a tire due to a flat.

My '06 also has an early build date.......July '05.

Probs covered under warranty to date.........
  • Accuator in hatch door replaced due to failure
  • Sunroof assembly replaced due to broken bracket
  • Shifter replaced due to not releasing key
  • Intermediate steering column replaced due to "thumping" during slow speed turns
  • Brake pads turned due to warping

Would do it all over again!!

2006 Daytona Metalic Blue

According to the Door sticker she is built in Mexico on 10/05 (2006 Model Year) and now has 79K on her. 2.4L 2 LT Model
Adopted her at 53k and she's had her Recall adjustments done.
Just changed the plugs after a misfire code came up with - Autolite APP5263 Double Platinum Finewire - Bad Move ??

Previously changed out the Front Hubs due to noise, Alternator due to failure and since I was there, changed out the Serpentine Belt via the Harbor Freight kit (cut handle to make shorter).
Think the Thermostat is going, I'm getting the DIC Temp Flat-line and clearing it as it is never too hot.
Oh that plastic Sunroof piece that keeps moving around is annoying me to no end.
New Tires and Brakes - So Far !!

They only like the AC Delco 41-103 iridium spark plugs and AC Delco 131-158 180 degree thermostat.
