What is the stupidest design error?
That one should be a 'sticky' if it isn't already. I answered the same question in this thread from another member about two or three pages ago. It gets asked rather often. On one of the less civilized sites I go to they would probably say "RTFM" for something like that.
re
^^^ thats one of the good things about this place - you dont get that - the guys here really try and answer the question even if they have to repeat themselves 50 times
that makes a difference to alot of folks and is appreciated too

Yeah 08bowtie, this is an amazing place to come for information and answers. Even if a question has been asked for the first time or the hundredth time, the decent thing to do is help out if you can.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the design of the rear "fender flares" and the sandblasting effect yet. My poor 07 is down to bare metal in that area and don't have the $$$ for running boards & paint to fix.
Honorable mentions have to go to replacing the air filter, headlight bulb replacement, and the lack of a keyhole in the hatch.
The sandblasting is the worst though. That is a horrible design flaw that has directly resulted in unnecessary damage to the vehicle.

People have mentioned the lack of a keyhole in the hatch, how about the lack of a keyhole on the passenger door, or the fact that there is onlyONE keyhole on the entire car. One day (while my remote battery was dead), I attempted to unlock the car manually when the lock knob only rose halfway. I had to call the GM service, who rather than use Onstar to unlock my door ( i had let it lapse) decided to send out a locksmith. He put an air bag in the top of the door, springing it open enough to get a coat-hangar like tool in. Although it was impossible to pull the knob up, I was able to poke the rear door switch for my panel, and pop open the back door.
