what is involved in a TUNE? who here has had one done and was it really worth it? lets take a 2007 hhr LT for example with an auto tranny. Would gas mileage suffer? does the auto shift better? do these tunes affect emissions testing? Does a tuned car have more horsepower & torque or does it ''just feel quicker''?

I have a 2.4 2006 tunde by Tune Time. They can change a number of settings. I went for the most HP so yes, my mpg's did suffer some.

I don't know all the technical stuff but the shift point were changed, air/fuel mixture adjusted, rev limiter changed and speed limiter removed. I have not done a dyno but I'd guess I gain at least 20 HP.

I would sat this mod was the most bang for the $$ for performance. Especially if you plan on a new intake and exhaust.

Oh yeah, I also had the speedo adjusted for my bigger tires.

Hey Mike...

You look busy online today... did you get a day off from work? If so, lucky you... I'm at the office in all this slop.

So... where did you go locally for the Tune Time? if you don't mind me asking. Been thinking about doing that...
