I now call it the HHR SS. Even got the name right on back!

Sorry I just don't get the name the car thing. I really don't even know anyone who would name a car and I know work with a lot of car people. Many have unnamed drag cars where it is popular to name with some. I am just going to remain the odd man out here.

I did call my loaner Cobalt the ugly little car. Does that count? LOL

I agree on the naming thing, but if pressed I'm going with Cindy. Also named my PT Rental from a month ago "The POS".

I won't say silly out of respect but I just never understood it and I have been into cars for years. Now I never thought about the born thing but I have to think you're right.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan on naming cars...but I'm not knocking anyone who does.

I will admit though, that the truck's official name is "Old Blue". It was given to it about 10 years ago when we bought new blue truck, and had the old one. Usually I just call my truck, "My Truck". I've also got, "The Lumina", and "The HHR".

The Lumina and HHR can also be shortened to "My Car" depending on which I'm driving..lol

Cool Under consideration

I'm a HUGE Star Wars geek, so I am seriously considering the name SIDIOUS since its a black '06 2LT

My 2 year old daughter (2 on the 9/16) calls it "Daddy Big Bwack Car"...she is still working on her "L"s

I'd have to get a custom plate for SIDIOUS and for my daughter's name (if I could figure a way to put her name for it on a plate and still be decipherable by other people)

The other choice is ROOKIE - which is my current plate, a Pennsylvania Railroad Heritage plate RR00K33

Thoughts or other suggestions

As a brief aside:
I've only had my HHR for 6 weeks and LOVE it. I'm hoping to have some nice weather here in the near future so I can clean it up real good and get some pics to post.

Forgot to mention, but it must be a wife thing for us guys...mine call it my Hearse too...keeps threatening to get curtains made. I told her to go for it, might just get coffin bar roof rails (my doesn't have rails) or something like that.

And now that I've had a little more time to think - funny how actually writing something down helps sometimes - I could use my daughter's name but just shorten it and call it "BWCKHHR".

This could work - instead of SIDIOUS or ROOKIE, use my 2 yr olds and work in HHR and call it BWKHHR ("bwacker" - "blacker") :twothumbs

I gave this a lot of thought....... My '02 Avalanche is "Ruby", not because it's Victory Red, but because I loved the Donald Fagen "Nightfly" copy of the same tune. My wife's '05 Jeep Liberty is "Blackie". Since my HHR is black, and it looks like a hearse I would do the obvious and call it that, but many others have beat me to that. I didn't plan on getting a new ride until my wife suggested we see what her old Cherokee brought in the Clunkers trade (4500), and when I got to my dealer I already knew what he had in stock, so it would up being a done deal before it even started. Since it was my wife's idea to buy a commuter car, and since I wanted style and looks, not a self-propelled appliance (it also had to be a Chevy), the HHR was the way to go. Therefore, I christened it "Hizzin'".............OK, put that first name with what it looks like and you wind up with "Hizzin' Hearse".......

'nuf said.
