Yeah Yeah Yeah.... Problems seem to have been worked out. First, don't know if this might have been involved or not, but we found a blown parking light fuse. changed that, and also while I was doing some stuff, I came up with a different dimmer switch. I popped that in, and between the two, My radio lights now work properly, And the cruise control buttons now light up. Yeah!!!
Another possibly dumb question. Can the steering wheel radio controls be added to a rig that was not built with them I stumbled across a junker that had that option. I got the switch pack, and the wiring for it under the air bag. I did not get the clock spring. The radio was also there, but I have no interest in trying to get it unlocked, and My Premium radio has XM I can't tell if that radio does.

Coulda been the switch or the fuse, my bet is the dimmer switch
