Love my HHR. I wasnt expecting a Cadillac when I purchased it. I also have a 2011 Corvette. I am a GM guy in spite of their flaws. If you watch the news all of the manufaturers are having huge recalls. Hard to give up on a brand because you have an issue or two.

Someone hit on the answer I think, gm is not the best manufacturer, but can be a good value. Buy one a couple years old for half the money, even after some repairs you still come out ahead.

GM sent me a letter stating, I could trade & buy new @ GM Employee discount pricing.. Which I am not a GM employee..

Only problem with that is, there are no pre 1970 Chevy Pick ups on the lot.

Jay, what's up. In one breath you say you will never buy another GM car.

Now you want that Cadillac.

As for me - I would buy nothing but GM. My first car was a used 1948 Pontiac business coupe. Wish I still had her.

The new Malibu turbos are very tempting but I've got too much time and money invested in my HHR so I'll be keeping it. Once it's paid off I've got plans to do a few "bigger" things to it but for now it's a nice daily driver. My girlfriend will be the next in line for a new car.

If you're itching for a new car I'd say trade it in and get something else...if you're questioning it now you'll probably continue to question it until you bite the bullet. I seriously doubt they'll give you $1k over book...

I've been getting "buy your car" postcards from the local dealer for a while now. Just ignore them.

I'm a Chevy guy, I will never buy anything but a GM product, probably always a Chevy (have had my 1965 Chevy van for 45 years, still on the road towing travel trailers, half a million miles). I love my HHR cause it doesn't look like all the cookie cutter cars on the road, plus it reminds me of the old Chevy pick-ups and Suburbans from my childhood. To me, all Asian cars look like Yugo's worst model.

Recalls happen with every brand, and every brand have lemons. I've watched Pintos and Explorers kill people, no Fords ever.
