General HHR Discuss anything related to the Chevy HHR that doesnt seem to fit into the more specific categories below.

Would you consider a HHR with 216 miles on it brand new?

They are offering it for 17999 after rebate and trade in incentive.....I can piggy back 1000 dollar military incentive and about 700 in GM Card $$ on top and that gets it to 16299 after rebates.

Not in love with the Cashmere interior or really want the ABS but this car is only 300 dollars more than the HHR's I was looking at adding boards to that come with no options other than fogs.

299 doc fee hurts also...yowzer...I'm sorry but that is obscene to charge that much....a few dealers I went to were as low as 75 dollars! Yeah I know they probably make it up elsewhere but 300 bones just looks bad on paper...ouch.

Goose
Goose, there is something wrong with your numbers.

You have a total price of vehicle with options as $19625.42.
The Supplier Pricing should be minus 5% of that (-$981.27) or $18644.15 NOT $20,215.52. Then subtract the incentives/rebates of $1500 and add the destination charge of $590. For a total of $17734.15. It's only a couple hundred less but it helps. Of course your plates, tax and doc fees are on top of that.

PM me if you need some assistance.

I think a car is considered new until it's titled. At least that's what I was told by my sister who worked at the license bureau. No title is issued to the dealer. Even a demonstrator can be sold as new and it can have quite a few miles on it.

Correct, it has to be titled or have a Certificate of Orgin issued. That mileage is nothing. They will add that to the warranty. Mine had more than that on it. They located mine in Miami. But the mileaged added for delivery was added to my warranty. I look at it this way, if it didn't break down on a road trip like that initially, it's a good sign. It also gave me a little better price and they did not charge to go get it.

Go for it. You might not find another.

OK folks, fill me in here. I keep hearing about the "GM Card $$". What is that? Do you get a percentage of the amount you charge and then pay on the card? Or is it an amount you charge and pay before interest charges?? I don't have one, but keep getting all these "Pre-Approvals" from GM. Is it worth it to get one of these cards and maybe have some $$ that can be applied to my trade in another 3 years or so???

This is what I got from the GM card site:

Your GM Card is more than just a credit card. It's a tool to help you save toward your next eligible, new GM vehicle from your everyday spending. With 5% Earnings from your credit card purchases, you'll watch your Earnings add up quickly.

I have like 456 dollars in earning but I got a coupon in the mail for a bonus $250 which will give me roughly 706 dollars along with the 500 dollar trade in allowance, $1500 rebate and $1000 military incentive...so roughly 3706 dollars in incentives and rebates...not bad

I know there are different types of the GM cards...the Platinum one I know gives 5% on all purchases...not sure on the other cards

They are probably the molded ones that have HHR embossed on the rear ones.

I got mine for $42 at the dealer parts counter.

OK folks, fill me in here. I keep hearing about the "GM Card $$".
Mine is the Visa GM. No annual fee. I earn 3% back on everything I put on it. I've had it since 1994 and have since cashed over 6000 $CA spread over 4 different cars. I'm about to cash another 650 for my wife's lease replacement. Good deal if you're going to buy GM anyway.

Goose, 216 miles is not bad if it was truly over a dealer swap, i.e. driven from point A to point B. On the other hand, if it has been demo'ed to customers, you could end up with something that has the equivalent of > 10 test drives on it. Not necessarily bad, but something to be aware of. Then again, I don't know how you'd find out if they are lying or not.

Good luck.

Yves
