That guy Moller is a nutcase and a flim-flam man. Funny thing is that people will work for him for long periods of time w/o pay, and investors keep giving him money. He has quiet the charisma from what I've read. People really believe in him.

A classic Sci-fi novel is "City", by Clifford D. Simak. It recounts the downfall of man which started because the personal helicoptor caused people to move out of the cities. So flying cars are probably bad.

Moller has been working on his cars for years (the flying sacuer thing and the red car) and still hasn't gotten past simple test flights. His vision is for a computer controlled "skyway" to prevent people from crashing into each other. You just punch in the destination and the computer does the rest. His vision is solid, he has spent millions, can fly off the ground when attached to a crane for safety and yet they are not production ready.
It seems to me that in these energy-conscious days, the fuel expended just to keep a vehicle aloft will preclude any serious consideration of flying machines for the masses.
Now, if they get that anti-gravity technology up to snuff...

Wow. This freaks me out a little bit, for the current situation rather mirrors this in some ways...major metro areas have seen residents flock to the suburbs, and the current fuel prices have these "live in the country, work in the city" commuters over a barrel.
And the fabric of society unravels just one more stitch...
