Year of an HHR
#4
Oldblue Thanks, There is a yard that I can go to. It has about 25 wrecked HHRs. Is There some where like inside the Drivers door. On my HHR inised the door it has 08/10 . So is that the date of manufacture . When I bought mine they said it was a 2011 and that is what the title shows. So is the date of manufacture 08/10 but it is a 2011. If I`am looking for parts can I go by the door #. Thanks

If it was built 08/10 then it is a 2011. That's how cars are dated since forever. It is not the date they were built it's the model year.
You can also use the old repo trick; look at the tail light lens you should see a DOT and year on it.
Or use the 10 digit of the VIN, except that's a code too. Mine is a 2011 code B.
Or take your smartphone with you and use the VIN decoder: VIN Decoder - Chevrolet Forum - Chevy Enthusiasts Forums

Fwiw. The body parts are pretty much interchangeable for all the year models, 2006-2011.
It's engine parts and electrical stuff that were changed and updated over the HHR's 6 years of production.
The 2008-10 SS would be an exception as far as body parts. They have different bumper covers, running boards(skirts),spoiler, grille and interiors.
