Any Recall on HHR Steel Fuel Line
#21
my 2009 also rusted out 1 yr ago - - the dealer told me very common on the cobalt & HHR, so they keep it in stock!
took me & a friend about 2 hrs to replace, but i have a mid-rise lift - - - gas tank doesn't get touched - there is a plastic hose w/ fitting that hangs of the back of the gas tank that the metal line attaches to.
at the left rear - near tire, the metal line has a black nylon fabric insulation thats covered in silver foil - - that's where they rust because the " insulation" traps salt & moisture - - the rest of the metal line is ok - - i didn't re-use the insulation - - it really wasn't that bad w/ 2 guys - 1 too pull the the line & other to push -- u do need a special tool at engine to disconnect the original line from fuel rail.

yep - - the connection under hood was easy - we struggled w/ the one by the gas tank - that was a plastic connector that had to be squeezed & it just didn't want to release.

Rusted fuel lines
I had the same problem with the rust causing a leak near the LR wheel. The shop had to drop the tank to replace the line. I did have them replace the fuel pump since the tank was out anyway. The car has 145,000 miles on it. The shop said they couldn't patch the line because of the fuel pressure is pretty high.. Hose clamps would blow off.
I'm having an issue with a service airbag warning light on at this time. The SRS codes point to the passenger seat sensor and the seat belt tension sensor.. I'm trying to find a wiring diagram for the SRS.
I'll post what I find out about this problem.

What would a wiring diagram tell you? Pretty simple each component plugs into the SDM (air bag computer).
There is a connector under the seat and one under the passenger kick panel. the SRS connectors are distinctive.
If you need to get farther into the airbag stuff, you should start a new thread.
