Recalls are initiated by the number of complaints made to the NHTSA before they start an investigation. Deaths of course get their attention quickly. A few complaints for an issue get ignored until there is a lot of complaints. That said if you believe it's an issue have you filed a complaint or were you expecting others to do that?

If you are not comfortable fixing it yourself, just take it in somewhere and get it fixed. Lots of capable shops around that can fix it for you.

And honestly, what are the odds of getting caught in a flash flood? There's a reason the NWS puts out warnings and the authorities tell people to stay off the roads.

Basically, it's a covert intelligence test. This has never happened to a single person that read the Owner's Manual... It's not a pull handle. Only a complete idiot would think that. Complete idiots NEVER EVER read manuals. Their iQ might actually climb. God forbid.

"If your a women", you are also more than one person, too. That at least doubles your odds of surviving right there. Or, wait, are referring to your a women versus b women? GM can't possibly be responsible in that case. I see no issue with the handles...

The ONLY recall on SSR was for the tire and loading placard. There is a TSB advising the replacement of only the door handle bezel not the entire panel; if the handle hinge break; much like the TSB for the HHR that dealerships chose to ignore.
